Indicator Lights When Coolant Level Is Not Low

  1. Disconnect low coolant level sensor connector. Connect ohmmeter between low coolant level sensor terminals "A" (Light Green wire) and "B" (Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If greater than 50 k/ohms are present, replace low coolant level sensor. If less than 50 k/ohms are present, go to next step.
  2. Connect test light between low coolant level sensor connector terminal "B" (Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black wire between low coolant level sensor and ground connection.
  3. Disconnect low coolant level indicator module connector. Connect test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "F" (Light Green wire) and low coolant level sensor connector terminal "A" (Light Green wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Light Green wire between low coolant level sensor and low coolant level indicator module.
  4. Connect test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "A" (Pink wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Pink wire between instrument panel fuse block and low coolant level indicator module.
  5. Connect test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "C" (Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in Black wire between low coolant level indicator module and ground connection.
  6. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Connect test light between low coolant level indicator module connector terminal "E" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire between instrument cluster and low coolant level indicator module.
  7. Reconnect instrument cluster connector. Turn ignition on. If low coolant indicator lights, replace instrument cluster. If low coolant indicator does not light, replace low coolant level indicator module.
