Exhaust Pipe: Description and Operation

Two methods are used for connecting exhaust system slip joints: clamps and welds. When servicing a welded connection it should be cut and the new connection clamped when installing replacement parts. Three types of clamps are used for connecting exhaust system slip joints: guillotine, saddle/U-bolt and single nut compression.
