Parking Brake Cable: Description and Operation
Three separate cables are used in the
parking brake system. The front cable, and separate left and right rear cables. The left and right rear cables are joined to the front cable at the
parking brake cable equalizer. This vehicle is equipped with coated parking brake cables. The cable is coated with a plastic material which slides over plastic seals inside the conduit end fittings. This is for corrosion protection, and reduced parking brake effort.
