Fitting Pistons

  1. Measure cylinder bore diameter .79" (20 mm), 3.8" (96 mm) and 6.1" (155 mm) below cylinder block deck surface. Measure piston diameter at 90-degree angle to piston pin and on pin center line. Determine piston clearance.
  2. If clearance is not within specification, replace piston and/or machine cylinder bore. See CYLINDER BLOCK  table and PISTONS, PINS & RINGS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS .
