Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal: Removal

  1. Remove transmission. See TRANSMISSION REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - A/T article in TRANSMISSION SERVICING section.
  2. On M/T models, mark clutch pressure plate and flywheel for installation reference. Remove pressure plate, clutch disc and flywheel. On A/T models, remove flexplate and retainer.
  3. On all models, careful pry seal from housing DO NOT damage sealing surfaces. Note direction of seal installation.
