Gauge Is Inaccurate (Commercial)
- Disconnect oil pressure sending unit connector. Turn ignition on. Connect one Red lead of Gauge Tester (J 33431-B) to sending unit connector Tan wire. Connect other Red lead to ground. Adjust tester resistance to zero ohms, then to 90 ohms.
- If gauge reads zero at zero ohms and slowly moves until reading high at 90 ohms, replace engine oil pressure gauge sensor. If gauge does not read zero at zero ohms and slowly move until reading high at 90 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Measure resistance between cluster terminal No. 21 (Tan wire) and ground. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair high resistance in Tan wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster.
