Gauge Always Indicates Empty (Motorhome)
- Disconnect sending unit. Turn ignition on. If gauge indicates full, replace sending unit. If gauge indicates empty, go to next step.
- Backprobe using test light between instrument cluster connector terminal No. 30 (Purple wire) and voltage. If test light does not come on, go to next step. If test light does come on, repair short to ground in Purple wire.
- Backprobe using test light between instrument cluster connector terminal No. 20 (Black wire) and voltage. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Black wire. If test light does come on, check instrument cluster for an open circuit in printed circuit. If printed circuit is okay, replace fuel gauge.
