Gauge Always Indicates Hot (Commercial & Motorhome)
- Disconnect temperature sending unit connector. Turn ignition on. If gauge indicates cold, replace temperature sending unit. If gauge does not indicate cold, backprobe instrument cluster connector with a test light between terminal No. 22 (Dark Green wire) and voltage. If test light comes on, repair short to ground in Dark Green wire. If test light does not come on, replace instrument cluster (Commercial), or go to next step (Motorhome).
- Backprobe instrument cluster with a test light between terminal No. 20 (Black wire) and voltage. If test light does not come on, repair open circuit in Black wire. If test light comes on, check instrument cluster for an open in printed circuit. If printed circuit is okay, replace gauge.
