Gauge Always Indicates Cold (Commercial & Motorhome)

  1. Disconnect temperature sending unit connector. Turn ignition on. Connect fused jumper wire between engine coolant temperature sensor connector terminal "A" (Dark Green wire) and ground. If gauge remains at cold, go to next step. If gauge moves toward hot, replace sending unit.
  2. Remove jumper wire. Backprobe with fused jumper wire between cluster connector terminal No. 22 (Dark Green wire) and ground. If gauge moves toward hot, check for open circuit in Dark Green wire. If gauge moves toward cold, replace instrument cluster.
