Mild Shutter or Sail-on 40 to 60 mph (64 to 96 kmph), Stall in Reverse (Reflash Calibration)

Models:
1994-96 Chevrolet Caprice
with 4.3L Engine (VIN W - RPO L99) and 4L60-E Automatic Transmission

This bulletin is being revised to change Title/Subject and to update Condition Statement and Parts Information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 57-65-16 (Section 6E - Engine Fuel and Emission).

Condition

Some vehicles may exhibit a mild shutter or a sail-on condition on initial deceleration between 40 to 60 mph (64 to 96 kmph), or an engine stall when backing up and the steering wheel is in a full turn position.

Correction

Install the proper flash calibration listed from the table below. Flash Calibration will be available on CD # 19.

Important:
A new flash calibration was developed for use only in Canadian police vehicles to obtain proper vehicle speed.
