Arming Sensor

This sensor is a normally open mechanical switch that closes during deceleration encountered in an accident. The arming sensor is wired in series with the steering wheel module and provides backup to the other sensors. A parallel resistor in the arming sensor permits a small amount of current to flow through the initiator circuit for diagnostic purposes.
