Low Fuel Lamp/Indicator: Description and Operation

The switch type consists of an indicator light and a low fuel warning switch located on the instrument panel.
The warning switch contacts are closed by the difference in voltage potential between the fuel gauge terminals. This voltage differential will activate the warning switch when the fuel tank is less than 1/4 full and, in turn, cause the indicator to light.
