Coolant Temperature Gauge Always Reads Cold (Caprice)

  1. Disconnect coolant temperature switch/sender. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage from coolant temperature switch/sender connector terminal "B" (Green/White wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, check for poor connection at coolant temperature switch/sender connector. If connector is okay, replace coolant temperature switch/sender.
  2. If no voltage is present, check for poor connection or open circuit in Dark Green/White wire. If connector and wire are okay, repair coolant temperature gauge.
