Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove intake manifold, exhaust manifold and valve covers. See INTAKE MANIFOLD, EXHAUST MANIFOLD and VALVE COVERS.
  2. Remove serpentine belt. Drain cooling system. Ensure components are kept in order for installation reference. Remove cylinder head bolts in 3 steps in reverse order of tightening sequence. See Figure . Remove cylinder head and gasket.
