Leaf Spring: Removal
NOTE:
Numbers in parenthesis refer to components and procedures identified in illustrations.
- Raise vehicle on a hoist and support the rear independently to relieve tension on the leaf spring.
- Remove the U-bolt nuts (7) and the washers (8). See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
- Remove the anchor plate (9).
- Remove the U-bolts (10) and spacer (11).
- Loosen the shackle to spring nut (12).
- Remove the shackle (18) to rear bracket nut (15), the washers (16), and the bolt (22).
- Remove the spring to front bracket (23), the nut (20), washers the (21), and the bolt (22).
- Remove the spring assembly (24) from the vehicle.
