Wiper Inoperative (Hi & Lo)

- Check fuse, wiring harness, wiper ground and dash connections. Using a test light, check for voltage on terminal No. 19. See Fig 1 . If test light does not light, connect jumper from terminal No. 18 to ground. If motor runs, repair ground wire from terminal No. 17 to dash switch. If motor did not run, replace motor.
- If fuse was blown in step 1), check wiper linkage for binding. Repair or replace damaged parts as needed. See INTERMITTENT OPERATION in this article. Connect a 0-30 amp ammeter across fuse block terminals. If current draw is excessive, disconnect wiper motor connector. Turn ignition on and place wiper switch in ON position. If current draw is excessive, repair short in wiring. If condition still exists, repair or replace shorted wiper motor.
