All With Column Shifter

  1. Place gear selector lever in reverse position. Turn transmission shift lever fully clockwise to forward stop. Turn ignition switch to "LOCK" position. Attach primary shift rod to column shift lever with retainer.
  2. Slide swivel on to end of shift rod and insert swivel into transmission shift lever. Loosely assembly with bolt and washer. Turn column shift lever sown as far as possible and tighten bolt.
  3. Turn ignition switch to "UNLOCK" position and move gear selector lever to neutral. Turn transmission shift lever and cross shaft lever clockwise to full forward positions, then back 1 detent to Neutral.
  4. Align gauge holes in column shift levers (3) and insert 1/4" gauge pin through holes. Repeat adjustment procedure with secondary shift rod. Remove gauge pin and check for proper linkage operation. Ignition switch should turn to "LOCK" position with shifter in reverse only.
