Stabilizer Bar: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove stabilizer bar-to-frame bolts, nuts and clamps. On Bravada, Jimmy, Sonoma, Syclone, Typhoon and "T" Series Blazer & Pickup, remove stabilizer bar-to-lower control arm bolts, nuts and clamps.
  2. On Astro, "K" Series Blazer & Pickup, Safari, Sierra, Suburban and Yukon, remove stabilizer bar-to-lower control arm bolt, nut and spacer. Remove stabilizer bar from vehicle. Remove stabilizer bar bushings.
  3. Inspect bushings for deformation and deterioration. Check stabilizer bar and clamps for excessive wear and damage. Replace as necessary.
