"K" Series

  1. Raise and support vehicle with jack stands under lower control arms. Ensure stands are as close as possible to each lower ball joint and upper control arm bumper does not contact frame.
  2. To check ball joints, place a dial indicator stem against spindle to show vertical movement. Pry between lower control arm and outer bearing race while reading dial indicator. Vertical play should not exceed .080" (2.0 mm).
