Piston & Rod Assembly: Installation

  1. Properly position rings on piston. See Fig 1 . Valve clearance notch on piston must face lifter valley.

  2. Check connecting rod side clearance. Connecting rod side clearance must be within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS tables. Ensure crankshaft turns smoothly.
