Piston & Rod Assembly: Installation

  1. Properly position rings on piston. See Fig 1. Ensure notch in top of piston is toward front of engine.

  2. Check connecting rod side clearance. Connecting rod side clearance must be within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure crankshaft turns smoothly.
