Gauge Stays At Full Position

  1. Turn ignition on. Check for open circuit between gauge and sending unit by disconnecting sending unit lead at fuel tank. Jumper wire sending unit lead to ground and note gauge reading.
  2. If fuel gauge now reads EMPTY, replace fuel gauge sending unit. If fuel gauge still reads FULL or beyond, repair open in wire between gauge and fuel tank.
