Voltmeter Is Inaccurate
- Check for short, open, or high resistance between alternator Brown wire and cluster. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between battery terminals and measure voltage between Brown wire and ground.
- If readings are different, repair Brown wire. If readings are the same, check Black ground wire for high resistance to ground. If Black wire is okay, replace inoperative instrument cluster.
