Wiper Motor Inoperative

  1. Check wiring harness, wiper ground strap, and dash switch connections and mounting. Check fuse. Ensure wiper fuse is good. Ensure wiper circuit has good ground connection. Turn ignition switch to RUN and place wiper/washer switch in HI.
  2. Connect test lamp from White wire at wiper motor connector to ground and check for voltage. If voltage is not present, locate and repair open between wiper motor and fuse block. If voltage exists, go to next step.
  3. Connect a fuse jumper from Black wire at windshield wiper/washer switch to ground. If wiper motor runs, locate and repair open circuit in Black wire between wiper/washer switch and ground. If wiper motor does not run, replace wiper motor.
