Wiper/Washer Systems - P Series Van: Description

Wiper system uses a compound wound, rectangular shaped 2-speed motor attached to a gear box. Gear box contains a parking switch and gear train. Gear train consists of a helical gear at end of armature shaft, and a pinion assembly. Helical gear drives an intermediate gear, and pinion drives output gear and shaft assembly.

Crank arm is attached to output gear shaft. Crank arm drives wiper transmission through connecting link arms. Wipers circuit is protected by a fuse located on fuse block. Windshield washer pump is a positive displacement-type using piston arrangement. Pump is mounted on shaft of wiper output gear.
