Pinion Flange & Pinion Seal: Installation

  1. Thoroughly clean machined surfaces. Lubricate inside diameter of seal. Pack cavity between pinion stem, pinion flange, and pinion nut washer with a non-hardening sealer.
  2. Using Pinion Seal Installer (J-24384), drive oil seal into place. Using pinion flange holder/remover, install pinion flange and drive pinion nut. Ensure mark made during removal is aligned. Install drive shaft.
