Engine Oiling System
Engine uses force-feed type lubrication system, utilizing a gear type pump. Pump assembly is mounted on front lower case and is driven directly by crankshaft. Oil is drawn up through pump and passes through oil filter.
Flow is diverted through 2 passages in cylinder block. One passage reaches crankshaft journal bearings and connecting rod journal bearings and the other flows up to cylinder head through No. 4 rocker shaft bracket to lubricate camshaft and valve train.
