Cylinder Head: Inspection

  1. Check head gasket mating surface for warpage. Maximum allowable warpage of cylinder head is .002" (.05 mm). If specifications are exceeded, correct surface or replace cylinder head.
  2. Measure flatness of intake and exhaust manifold mating surfaces. Maximum allowable warpage is .004" (.10 mm). If specifications are exceeded, correct surface or replace cylinder head.
