Removal & Installation: Valves: Inspection

  1. Measure valve face angle. If valve face angle is not 45 degrees, replace valve. Measure valve head margin. If valve head margin is less than .0315" (.800 mm), replace valve. Inspect valve stem tip for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.
  2. Measure valve stem diameter. Intake valve stem diameter should be .2739-.2747" (6.957-6.977 mm). Exhaust valve stem diameter should be .2737-.2747" (6.952-6.970 mm). Replace valve and guide as a set.
