Upper Control Arm & Pivot Shaft Bushings: Removal

  1. Note location of alignment shims for reinstallation. Remove control arm mounting nuts and shims. Raise and support front end of vehicle under lower control arms, between spring seats and ball joints.
  2. Remove wheel. Remove upper ball joint from steering knuckle. Support rotor and hub assembly to prevent weight from damaging brake hose. It is necessary to remove upper control arm mounting bolts for clearance. Remove upper control arm.
