Lower Ball Joint: Installation

  1. Position new ball joint in control arm bore with grease purge hole on rubber seal facing forward. Using Ball Joint Remover and Installer Set (J-9519-D ), using "C" Clamp (J-9519-10 ) and Installer (J-9519-9 ), press joint into bore until it bottoms on control arm. Remove installer tools.
  2. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation. Lubricate ball joint fitting. Check and adjust front alignment as necessary. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES in WHEEL ALIGNMENT section.
