Section 36 (Suspension - Front): Description
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 1987 GMC Safari, 1987 GMC S15 Pickup, 1987 GMC S15 Jimmy, 1987 GMC Cab & Chassis, and 1987 Chevrolet S10 Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Independent front suspension consists of upper and lower control arms with steering knuckle mounted by ball joints. The upper control arms are mounted with pivot shafts, through rubber bushings. The lower control arms have pressed-in bushings and are attached frame. Coil springs are mounted between lower control arm and a formed seat in suspension crossmember. A stabilizer bar is bracket mounted to frame side rails and connected to lower control arms by link bolts.
