Description & Operation: Description

The instrument cluster is an electronic, microprocessor controlled unit with liquid crystal displays. Speedometer and tachometer readings are displayed both digitally and in bar graph form. The driver information center is located between speedometer and tachometer.

Information center has an analog (bar graph) fuel gauge display and 4 multi-function digital displays. Displays are switch selectable. Display selections include oil pressure or oil temperature, coolant temperature or system voltage, instant or average fuel economy, trip odometer, range or distance traveled on reserve.

A telltale panel to right of cluster contains indicators for low fuel, oil temperature, low oil pressure, coolant temperature, and low system voltage. To left of telltale panel is a function select switch panel containing 4 function select switches, the English/Metric select switch, the trip odometer/range reset button and average fuel economy reset button.

A photocell located on face of cluster provides ambient lighting information to cluster circuitry which in turn adjusts panel brightness as necessary.
