Valve Springs (1.3L & 1.6L SOHC)

  1. Remove cylinder head. See CYLINDER HEAD in ENGINE, MANIFOLDS & CYLINDER HEAD section. Remove rocker arms and shafts. Remove camshaft. See CAMSHAFT & SPROCKETS in CAMSHAFT section.
  2. Use a Valve Spring Compressor (09916-14510) and Valve Lifter Attachment (09916-48210) to remove retainer locks. Remove retainers, springs, spring seats and valves. Keep all components in order for reassembly reference. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation.
