Choke Piston (Vacuum Break)


1. Disconnect choke piston hose from throttle body and connect suitable vacuum source to choke piston hose.
2. Lightly hold choke blade closed, apply vacuum to choke piston, then measure clearance between choke blade and carburetor bore.
3. Primary vacuum break clearance should be as specified in ``Adjustment Specifications.''
4. With vacuum applied as in step 2, press piston rod into piston and measure clearance between choke blade and carburetor bore.
5. Secondary vacuum break clearance should be as specified in ``Adjustment Specifications.''
6. If clearances are not as specified, check piston and linkage and adjust or repair as needed.
