Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1985-88 EXC. 1987-88 EFI MODELS

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove exhaust pipe at manifold.
4. Remove lower heat shield bolt.
5. Remove air pipe at manifold.
6. Remove air conditioning belt.
7. Lower vehicle and remove air compressor lower adjusting brace.
8. Remove spark plug wires.
9. Remove oxygen sensor wire from sensor and block.
10. Remove exhaust manifold hot air shroud.
11. Remove exhaust manifold.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
