Parking Brake Cables: Removal
- Hoist rear of vehicle and support with jack stands. Remove rear drums and parking brake cable end from brake shoe lever. Remove clip attaching parking brake cable to backing plate and disconnect cable from backing plate.
- Remove both door sill plates, seat belt buckle bolts and shoulder harness bolts from floor. Lift carpeting off parking brake lever.
- Disconnect parking brake light at connector. DO NOT disassemble parking brake lever switch. Loosen parking brake cable adjusting nuts and remove parking brake lever bolts.
- Remove cotter pin and cable pulley from parking brake lever body. Remove front lever cable. Remove cable clamps under vehicle and remove right and left cables.
NOTE:
Sprint models use a White color coded parking brake cable to aid in installation, and it must be installed on right side of vehicle.
