Master Cylinder: Reassembly

  1. Coat all parts with clean brake fluid. Install new piston cups on pistons. Install secondary return spring, return spring seat and secondary piston in cylinder bore.
  2. Install primary return spring and primary piston in cylinder bore. Install sealing rings on primary piston stopper and install stopper in cylinder bore.
  3. Depress primary piston and install snap ring in cylinder. Press primary piston into bore until seated; install and tighten piston stopper bolt in bottom of cylinder.
  4. Install reservoir on master cylinder and bench-bleed before installing in vehicle. Bleed entire brake system after installation.
