Wheel Bearing: Adjustments

FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ADJUSTMENT

1. While rotating wheel in the forward direction, torque spindle nut to 12 ft. lbs.
2. Back spindle nut off to the just loose position.
3. Hand tighten spindle nut, then loosen until cotter holes are aligned and install cotter pin. Do not loosen nut more than 1/2 flat to align cotter pin holes.
4. With bearings properly adjusted, endplay must be .001---.005 inch.
