Engine Idling Rough

1. Check if idle speed is within specifications.
2. Check to ensure accelerator control cable is not binding or twisting.
3. Check accelerator lever setting for looseness.
4. Check for air or water in fuel filter.
5. Check for proper alignment on injection pump flange.
6. Check engine mounting for cracks or looseness.
7. Check fuel spray pattern, and ensure injection starting pressure is 1707 psi.
8. Check to ensure intake clearances are satisfactory. Refer to specifications.
9. Check compression pressure in each cylinder. Standard value should be 441 psi.
10. Check to ensure proper installation of timing belt and camshaft.
11. Check delivery valve for sticking.
12. Replace or readjust setting of injection pump.
