Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

1. Remove air cleaner, then disconnect vacuum hose from check valve.
2. Remove master cylinder brace rod.
3. Remove remaining master cylinder to brake unit attaching nuts, then pull master forward until it clears brake unit mounting studs. Carefully move master cylinder aside with brake lines attached. Support master cylinder to avoid stress on brake lines. Move master cylinder only enough to provide clearance for brake unit removal.
4. Remove nuts attaching brake unit to dash panel.
5. Remove pushrod to pedal retainer and slide pushrod off pedal pin.
6. Remove power brake unit from vehicle.
