Engine Notes

1977 NEW INTAKE VALVE STEM SEALS:  Late 1971 production 402" engines have valve stem seals on all intake valves. The teflon seal is enclosed in a steel housing that seats over the valve guide. Current and past versions of the 396" and 402" engines can be fitted with these seals.

NOTE: Discard the oil deflector located in the spring cap when valve stem seals are used.
