Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations

Usage Fluid/Lubricant
Automatic Transmission DEXRON-VI Automatic Transmission Fluid (GM Part No. 88865601, in Canada 19367328)
Chassis Lubrication Chassis Lubricant (GM Part No. 12377985, in Canada 88901242) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI #2, Category LB or GC-LB.
Engine Coolant 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use DEX-COOL Coolant (GM Part No. 12346290, in Canada 10953464)
Engine Oil Use full synthetic engine oils that meet the dexos1 specification. Engine oils that have been approved by GM as meeting the dexos1 specification are marked with the dexos1 approved logo.
For the 2.0L L4 turbo engine, use SAE 0W-20 viscosity grade engine oil.
For the 3.6L V6 engine, use SAE 5W-30 viscosity grade engine oil. Cold Temperature Operation: In an area of extreme cold, where the temperature falls below -29 °C (-20 °F), an SAE 0W-30 oil may be used. An oil of this viscosity grade will provideeasier cold starting for the engine at extremely low temperatures.

Hood and Door Hinges, Key Lock Cylinders Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube (GM Part No. 12346241, in Canada 10953474)
Hydraulic Brake System DOT 3 Hydraulic Brake Fluid (GM Part No. 19353126, in Canada 19353127)
Power Liftgate Actuator Ball Joint, Hood Latch Assembly, Secondary Latch, Pivots, Spring Anchor, and Release Pawl Lubriplate Lubricant Aerosol (GM Part No. 89021668, in Canada 89021674) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI #2, Category LB or GC-LB.
Weatherstrip Conditioning Weatherstrip lubricant (GM Part No. 3634770, in Canada 10953518) or equivalent
Windshield Washer Optikleen Washer Solvent (GM Part No. 10515151, in Canada 10951147)
