Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LGX Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (LGX GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) 
  2. { If equipped }Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Power Transfer Unit Vent Replacement (LSY Engine)Power Transfer Unit Vent Replacement (LGX Engine)
  3. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Replacement (LGX) 
  4. Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Heater Water Auxiliary Pump Hose Replacement (LGX)
1 Radiator Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Radiator Surge Tank

Procedure

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LGX Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (LGX GE 47716) Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) 
  2. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
