Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2023 GMC Sierra 3500 HD and 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Static Test

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Remove the component: Transmission Fluid Pan
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector: Q77C Transmission Control Solenoid Valve 3
    4. NOTE:

    The component's temperature should be 19 to 21°C (66 to 70°F) while testing.

  4. Test for 5.0 to 5.4 ohms between the test points: Terminal 1 & Terminal 2

    @Q77C Transmission Control Solenoid Valve 3

    • If not between 5.0 and 5.4 ohms 

      Replace the component: Q77C Transmission Control Solenoid Valve 3

    • Go to next step: If between 5.0 and 5.4 ohms 
  5. Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Each terminal of the component & The component's housing
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: Q77C Transmission Control Solenoid Valve 3

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  6. All OK.
