With Scan Tool

NOTE:

The Range Actuator Learn Test does not have a parameter that indicates that the learn process have completed successfully.

  1. Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Select: Module Diagnostics
  3. Select: Transfer Case Control Module
  4. Select: Configuration/Reset Functions
  5. Select: Range Actuator LearnFollow the instructions on the scan tool.
  6. Verify the learn process have completed successfully by monitoring the following:
    1. Range Actuator Position will show Learn in Progress
    2. Listen to the Transfer Case audibly shift from 4WD Low to 2HI
    3. Service 4WD indicator will turn from amber to white
    • If not completed successfully 

      Refer to Step 1 and perform the learn procedure again (may need to perform up to 3 times)

    • Go to next step: If completed successfully 
  7. Operate the component: S126 Drive Mode Select Switch - 2WD/4WD/AWD Automatic/4WD High/Locked/4WD Low

    Verify operating the controls yields the expected results.

    • If the function is NOT executed as expected 
    1. Verify that no DTCs are set.
      • Go to next step: If no DTC is set

        Go to next step: Refer to: Step 1

    • Go to next step: If the function is executed as expected 
  8. All OK.
