Removal Procedure

- Remove the battery tray. Battery Tray Replacement
- Disconnect the electronic transmission selector manual park release cable from the transmission. Electronic Transmission Range Selector Manual Park Release Cable Replacement
- Remove the auxiliary water pump bolt (1).
- Position the auxiliary water pump (2) out of the way.
- Disconnect the control valve body transmission control module electrical connector (1), then unclip the wiring harness from the cover.
- Engine Wiring Harness Transmission Clip Nut (1) - Remove
- Reposition the transmission wiring harness bracket (2) as necessary.
- Disconnect the transmission input speed sensor connector (3).
- Remove the 2 wiring harness retainers (4) then reposition the harness as necessary.
- Drain the transmission fluid. Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler outlet pipes from the transmission fluid cooler. Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (With V08)Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement (Without V08)
- Plug and / or cap the pipes and the transmission to prevent contamination.
- Unclip the 4 engine wiring harness retainers (2) from the wiring harness bracket.
- Disconnect all the electrical connector (3) from the transmission and position the engine wiring harness out of the way.
- Remove the body wiring harness bracket bolt (1).
- Remove the wiring harness bracket (5) from the transmission.
- Unclip all the remaining engine wiring harness retainers and disconnect all the remaining electrical connectors from the transmission.
- Remove the 3 transmission bolts (1, 2, 3).

- Disconnect the left side front wheel drive half shaft from the transmission. Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side

- Mark the relationship of the flex plate to the torque converter for reassembly.
- Remove the torque converter bolts (1).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the engine support fixture. Engine Support Fixture
- Remove the left side transmission mount to transmission bolts. Transmission Mount Replacement (Left Side) Transmission Mount Replacement (Front)
- Remove the front transmission mount to transmission bolts. Transmission Mount Replacement (Left Side) Transmission Mount Replacement (Front)
- Lower the transmission side with the support fixture to allow clearance for removal.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Use a transmission jack to support the transmission.
- Remove the 3 transmission bolts (1, 2, 3).
- Remove the 2 transmission bolts (1, 2).NOTE:
Ensure the torque converter remains securely in place on the transmission input shaft while separating and removing the transmission.
- Separate the transmission from the engine.
- Lower the transmission with the transmission jack far enough to remove the transmission.
- Transfer components as necessary.
