Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P0097, P0098, P00EA, P00EB, P0112, P0113, P0117, P0118, P1682, P16A7, P16BC, P2610, U060F, U1319 is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- Verify the following parameters are within 25°C (45°F) of each other:
- Start-Up Intake Air Temperature Sensor
- Start-Up Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2
- Start-Up Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3
- If not in the specified range
- { Start-Up Intake Air Temperature Sensor } & { Start-Up Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 } Refer to DTC P0097-P0099, P00F4-P00F6, or P0112-P0114
- { Start-Up Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3 } Refer to DTC P00EA-P00EC
- Go to next step: If in the specified range
- Engine - Idling
- Verify the scan tool parameter: = -39 to 149°C (-38 to 300°F) and changes
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3
- If not in the specified range or does not change
- { Intake Air Temperature Sensor } & { Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 } Refer to DTC P0097-P0099, P00F4-P00F6, or P0112-P0114
- { Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3 } Refer to DTC P00EA-P00EC
- Go to next step: If in the specified range and changes
- Verify the appropriate scan tool parameter:
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor - The value should not spike or drop out.
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor 2 - The value should not spike or drop out.
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3 - The value should not spike or drop out.
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B75D Mass Airflow Sensor - Bank 1
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B111B Turbocharger Boost/Intake Air Temperature Sensor
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- If the value spikes or drops out
Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal (s) / Electrical Connector (s)
- Go to next step: If the value does not spike or drop out
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Repeat the procedure starting at step 1
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
NOTE:
To minimize the effects of residual engine heat and heating elements inside the sensor, perform step 3 of this procedure only if the ignition has been Off for longer than 8 h.
