Removal Procedure

- Valve Rocker Arm-Right Side - Remove - Valve Rocker Arm Replacement - Right Side
- Camshaft Carrier-Right Side - Remove - Camshaft Carrier Resealing - Right Side
- Starter - Remove - Starter Replacement (LSY) , or Starter Replacement (LGY)
- NOTE:
If the EN-46106 Flywheel Holding Tool is not installed, the crankshaft may rotate. If the crankshaft rotates, disassembly and reassembly of the entire camshaft timing system may be required.
Install the EN-46106 Flywheel Holding Tool (1) to prevent crankshaft rotation.
- Remove the spark plug from the applicable cylinder. Gas Engine Ignition Spark Plug Replacement
- Install the EN-39313 Spark Plug Port Adapter to the applicable cylinder.
- Connect the EN-39313 Spark Plug Port Adapter to a compressed air source.
Install the EN-46335-A On-Vehicle Valve Spring Compressor (1) above the applicable cylinder as shown.
- Tighten the EN-46335-A On-Vehicle Valve Spring Compressor bolt (2).
- Remove the valve keepers (3).
- Loosen the EN-46335-A On-Vehicle Valve Spring Compressor bolt and remove the compressor.
Valve Spring Retainer (1) - Remove
- Valve Spring (2) - Remove
Use the EN-46116 Valve Stem Seal Remover/Installer (1) to remove the valve stem seal (2).
