Removal Procedure

- Engine - Remove - Engine Replacement (AWD) , or Engine Replacement (RWD)
- Camshaft Timing Chain-Right Side - Remove - Camshaft Timing Chain Assembly Replacement - Right Side
Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield (1) - Remove - Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement (Upper) , or Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement (Lower)
- Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger-Right Side - Remove - Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger Replacement - Right Side
- Fuel Pump - Remove - Fuel Pump Replacement
Remove the ground wire bolt (1) and ground wire (2) at the right front of the cylinder head.
- Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.
- Camshaft-Right Side - Remove - Camshaft Replacement - Right Side
Camshaft Carrier-Right Side (2) - Remove - Camshaft Carrier Resealing - Right Side
Valve Lifter-Right Side (1, 2) - Remove [ 12x ] - Valve Lifter Replacement - Right Side
Cylinder Head Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [ 8x ]
- Remove and DISCARD the rear M8 right cylinder head bolt (2).
- Cylinder Head (3) - Remove
- Cylinder Head Gasket (4) - Remove and DISCARD
- Clean, inspect and overhaul the cylinder head as needed. Cylinder Head Overhaul
